Good location, free WiFi, good breakfast buffet
The location is great. Good breakfast, shower and internet speed. Confortable bed. Good parking space, because the owner lent us one of his otherwise it would have been difficult to find one.
We arrived at the hotel at 7:30 p.m. and there was nobody there to receive us, we had to wait at the door for 15 min until the owner arrived (And they knew we would arrive around that time). The employees didn't speak english, only the owner did. The hotel was going through a renovation and only our room was available, it didn't cause us any trouble, but it was weird anyway.
The location was excellent. Many rooms overlook the Tauber River valley. We were within two blocks of the town center. We could easily walk to shops, restaurants, museums, etc. We arrived early and the owner gave us 5 keys. Told us to look at five rooms (they are all different) and to select the one we wanted. Breakfast was delicious. We loved the Criminal Museum, the cathedral, "walking the wall," and the Night Watchman tour. The small bakeries and meat markets were the source of many delicious snacks. We purchased most of our souvenirs in Rothenberg and mailed them home.
This was not a problem for us (we chose a room on the first floor), but guests should know that there is no elevator and the "hike" up to the third floor with suitcases could be problematic for some older or disabled guests. When booking, the owner suggests requesting a room on the first floor if stairs are difficult.
Great service, awesome value for the price, we have already booked another reservation with them!
It was small but charmingly historic. The location was perfect for exploring the old town. Free parking and internet (when working) was a bonus
The breakfast was not included and overpriced. The pillows were too soft and the rooms could be noisy depending on the location within the hotel.
I like the area of the hotel cause can walk to every where and breakfast was very good...
Friendliness of staff, location and ease of driving to hotel from the south. The town is wonderful and friendly also.
I organized an impromptu trip to Rothenburg with my two children (5 and 7), friend and her teenage daughter. The Hotel Am Siebersturm was a great fit for us. Upon arrival,we dropped off our things and then the owner hopped in the van to lead me to a parking spot. This was helpful as navigating the streets of Rothenburg and be tight. The hotel is in a great location within the city wall, but near a walking exit that has a small field and swings which was really convenient for my little ones and the dog. The family room was nice as was the double room my friend and her daughter were in. There was a little balcony with a table and chairs just across the hall from us which was great for additional space and relaxation. We all slept great. The breakfast in the morning was great. We had a variety of meats, cheeses, bread, fruits, cucumbers, cereals, jams, juice, milk, coffee and tea. We really enjoyed our experience there and it was a great value for the money!
Fantastic location, very friendly and helpful staff, great breakfast and beautiful Tauber Valley views.
Perfect location, staff, romantic atmosphere, parking (problem at other hotels).
English was not spoken by most of the staff. The only one who did; was Andre and he was not there 99% of the time. He said he would get back to me about an extended stay but was not there .On check-out they gave me the wrong bill and it was difficult talking with a language barrier. We finally got a revised bill that was 100 euro less and correct. In spite of the language problem the staff was friendly. The room was comfortable. The breakfast was good..The location is the key to staying here. It is a stones throw from the gate and less then 5 min walk to the marketplatz
no elevator and no English
Had one of the rooms with the hallucination view. It was wonderful. Traditional European room, with stairs, no elevator. The hotel fits beautifully with the whole atmosphere of Rothenburg. Loved it.
small hotel small room but clean and cosy, easy acess from train station and to Rothenburg village
We absolutely loved the view of the Tauber Valley from our room. Although the room was small, it looked and felt clean and fresh. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel was a close walk to just about everything but far enough away from the Markt square to be away from the majority of the hustle and bustle. We traveled with a 2-month old baby and we were surprised to see that they had a crib that we could have used. We chose not to as we have a travel bassinet, but we thought that was a thoughtful detail!
There is public parking on the street, but it can be difficult to find an open space close to the hotel. The hotel has one reserved spot (that we know of) and it was worth it to us to pay the extra Euro to use the spot.
excellent breakfast,good views, nice location
